Walk the newly-established Lancashire Witches Walk

Barrowford – Lancaster

20th April – 20th July 2013

Starting this Saturday, join the series of guided walks along the newly established ‘Lancashire Witches Walk’, which crosses the stunning Bowland fells. The walks are led by experienced Lancashire County Council environmentalists and will be joined by Green Close artists/ historians on differing days. Expert historian, Dr Robert Poole will be joining the first, second and final stages of these walks.

Day 1 – Barrowford to Barley
Saturday 20th April, 10am – 3pm. 4 ½ miles
Meet at Barley for transport to the beginning of the walk
 
Day 2 – Barley to Spring Wood
Saturday 11th May, 10am – 5pm. 10 miles
Meet at Spring Wood, Whalley for transport to the beginning of the walk
 
Day 3 – Spring Wood to Waddington
Sunday 19th May, 10am – 4pm. 7 miles
Meet at Waddington for transport to the beginning of the walk
 
Day 4 – Waddington to Slaidburn
Saturday 8th June, 10am – 4pm. 8 miles
Meet at Slaidburn for transport to the beginning of the walk
 
Day 5 – Slaidburn to High Salter
Sunday 23rd June, 10am – 4pm. 10 miles
Meet at Slaidburn – return transport will be provided
 
Day 6 – High Salter to Claughton Quarries
Sunday 7th July, 10am – 2pm. 4 ½ miles
Meet at Claughton Quarries for transport to the beginning of the walk
 
Day 7 – Claughton Quarries to Lancaster Castle
Saturday 20th July, 10am – 3pm. 8 miles
Meet at Dalton Square, Lancaster for transport to the beginning of the walk
 

Wear suitable walking attire (including packing waterproofs / sun cream) and bring a packed lunch. Dogs are welcome on some sections of the walk on a lead.
